At Snipes Farm Day Camp, children and youth ages 5-15 unplug from tech and plug into the beauty, peace and adventure of nature and life on a farm. Campers have 80 acres of woods, creeks and gardens to explore. They pick blackberries in the orchard, find salamanders under logs in the woods and crayfish in the creek.
Our chef educator teaches about the journey of food from seed-to-fork as we enjoy 2 fresh snacks each day and through weekly cooking classes. Tomatoes from the garden are made into salsa and blueberries head into smoothies and muffins. Art projects are connected to the weekly themes. The fun of small and big group games through the day make camper connections through friendly competition and cooperation. Camper favorites include: GaGa, Capture the Flag, soccer, basketball . Camp songs add cheer all day long! During Community Care times campers feed and care for barn yard animals, harvest, weed and water in the garden, help with farm projects or keep camp tidy and clean.
Morning and afternoon activities are hands-on whether through STEM projects, building a fairy house or fort, or doing archery. Campers learn about the natural world, stretch, and grow into new skills and make lasting friendships. Weekly enrichment may include: 4-H science and art, nature center animal programs, Trenton Circus Squad classes or yoga or dance classes.
The Camp Leadership Program for youth ages 13-15 includes camp activities and team building. They also help with special service projects and leadership opportunities with farmers or helping with younger campers. They head off for a field trip adventure every Thursday in the region that includes state and county parks, specialty local farms, kayaking or heading to a rock gym.
The daily camp schedule is 8:30am-3:30pm with before and aftercare available. There is an 8% early bird discount until March 1st and the 4% discount thru April 1st. From the very young to teens, Snipes Farm is a joyful place to spend a week or two or for whole the summer!
