Since its founding in 2008, Snipes Farm Day Camp has been an amazing place for children to learn and grow. The nonprofit mission of Snipes Farm and Education Center is to model and teach sustainable farming, build community and reconnect people to the land. Farm Camp and the Camp Leadership Program (CLP) do this and more!

Eighty acres are available for exploring and discovery, including woodlands, fields, gardens, the orchard and creek. The youngest among us (children ages 3-5) and an adult will enjoy Little Sprouts farm classes. Snipes Farm Day Camp (for children ages 6-11), the Camp Leadership Program-CLP (for youth ages 12-14) and the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program provide a week-long camp experience. Through hands-on and outdoor activities, children learn, grow and play with friends on a farm! Campers gain skills and a sense of stewardship through morning chores caring for animals and a garden and helping with farm projects. Morning and afternoon activities include art, science, games, and nature study. Weekly themes include: Fluttery By (Pollinator Week), Artful Adventures and Moovin and Groovin’. The cooking and healthy snack program will include our favorite recipes and new ones introduced by an enthusiastic chef-educator! New this year will be an archery program!

The Camp Leadership Program for middle schoolers (ages 12-14) takes a deeper dive with the weekly themes and includes farm projects, team building and culinary arts. Teens gain leadership and job skills through the Counselor-in-Training program.

Flexibility and innovation are always key practices in the camping world. We have redesigned the flow of the day with COVID-19 safety and adherence to both CDC and American Camping Association guidelines in mind from arrival to departure. Though camp may look a bit different, it will still feel the same.
