Meet Casey Crosby!
Hi! My name is Casey Crosby, and I recently opened my own speech therapy practice. My husband and I have a son who is 18 months old and the light of our lives! The COVID-19 pandemic made it very difficult for us to find childcare that we felt was safe, so we decided I would take the leap from being a school-based speech therapist to a private practitioner. This gave us more flexibility and allowed us to care for him ourselves. Opening my own practice has been a dream of mine for years. During my time as a speech therapist within the school system, I saw a need in our community for more individualized speech therapy services that incorporated each child’s interests to really help motivate them and allow them to thrive.
I have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from La Salle University, and I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech- Language- Hearing Association. I pursued a degree in Speech Language Pathology because I really wanted to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Building a Community Resource
My business is Play With Words Speech Therapy, LLC. We provide high-quality, individualized speech therapy services in the comfort of your home. We are also planning to hold community classes such as Mommy/Daddy and Me language enrichment classes, Baby Sign classes, daycare/pre-k staff trainings, parent coaching, etc. Our goal is to be a strong resource in our community for anyone looking for information on how to help their child thrive. We travel to you to help make life just a little bit easier! Play With Words provides ALL speech therapy services within your home---screenings, evaluations, and play-based therapy sessions that are tailored to your child’s interests.

A Good Support System
Being a new entrepreneur and first-time mom during a pandemic has had its challenges. However, at times I feel like working for myself has made juggling family life easier. I now have the flexibility to schedule around the needs of our family which has been a HUGE help. My advice to others would be to make sure you have a good support system around you. My husband is my biggest fan, and his encouragement and help has made this dream of mine possible.
