Get Creative with The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin

Fun Craft and Recipe!

One of my family's favorite fall picture books is The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano! We hope you enjoy these fun and easy Spookley-themed crafts and recipes as much as we do! 


Spookley Popsicle-Stick Craft

Materials:

  • 4-inch by 4-inch square piece of cardboard
  • 10-12 small popsicle sticks
  • Green and black pipe cleaners
  • Green construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Orange paint

Directions:

  • Paint the cardboard piece and popsicle sticks orange and allow to dry.
  • Once dry, glue the popsicle sticks to the cardboard.
  • Bend the green pipe cleaner into the shape of a stem and vine and glue to top of square.
  • Cut the green construction paper into the shape of leaves and glue to square.
  • Bend the black pipe cleaner in the shape of a mouth and glue to square.
  • Attach googly eyes with glue and allow to dry. 


Spookley Snack

Materials:

  • Graham crackers (broken in half for square shape)
  • Vanilla icing
  • Orange food coloring
  • Green Mike & Ikes
  • Green writing gel (edible)
  • Candy eyeballs

Directions:

  • Mix the food coloring and vanilla icing until completely orange.
  • Spread icing on graham cracker
  • Decorate with green Mike & Ike for stem, candy eye balls, and writing gel.
  • Enjoy!
