One of my family's favorite fall picture books is The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano! We hope you enjoy these fun and easy Spookley-themed crafts and recipes as much as we do!
Spookley Popsicle-Stick Craft
Materials:
- 4-inch by 4-inch square piece of cardboard
- 10-12 small popsicle sticks
- Green and black pipe cleaners
- Green construction paper
- Googly eyes
- Orange paint
Directions:
- Paint the cardboard piece and popsicle sticks orange and allow to dry.
- Once dry, glue the popsicle sticks to the cardboard.
- Bend the green pipe cleaner into the shape of a stem and vine and glue to top of square.
- Cut the green construction paper into the shape of leaves and glue to square.
- Bend the black pipe cleaner in the shape of a mouth and glue to square.
- Attach googly eyes with glue and allow to dry.
Spookley Snack
Materials:
- Graham crackers (broken in half for square shape)
- Vanilla icing
- Orange food coloring
- Green Mike & Ikes
- Green writing gel (edible)
- Candy eyeballs
Directions:
- Mix the food coloring and vanilla icing until completely orange.
- Spread icing on graham cracker
- Decorate with green Mike & Ike for stem, candy eye balls, and writing gel.
- Enjoy!
